Heidi Kakko

Heidi Kakko
Heidi Kakko

Heidi started in the field of early investments in 2008 by managing a publicly backed business angels’ co-investment fund, and developing the market to grow the angel community. Her first attempt to establish an angel association in 2009 failed, as there were not enough business angels. Instead of a Business Angel Network, she initiated the Estonian Venture Capital Association EstVCA as the founding board member.

Heidi has served as the board member of the venture investment company SmartCap and the fund manager of its Early Fund I & II. Her investment portfolio consisted of 20 innovative Estonian companies – today that portfolio is among the best performers of that vintage year in CEE.

Heidi has worked for 3 companies as the CEO and more than 10 years on transactions at PwC. She closed her second investment fund in June 2017. She graduated from the University of Tartu, Cum Laude, and has taken PE&VC courses in HBS. She is an AIESEC Alumnus and a life-time member of Junior Chamber International, having earned the title of the JCI Senator in 2011.
